Document Conversion

In most organisations, large documents such as operating manuals are naturally maintained with a traditional word processor.

When managing and distributing large documents via your intranet, your typical choices are to either

- distribute documents in native format

- or to convert to HTML.

The first option is not effective from a network bandwidth point of view and subsequent slowness causes user frustration. You will also end up with local copies of documents which itself causes other problems.

If you deploy specialist CAD packages and project planning software, which many people need to read but only a few people create, you may not wish to purchase licenses for all staff.

Converting large documents to HTML results in huge pages that themselves are slow to access.

Spreadsheet conversion to HTML tends not to give very satisfying results, although it has improved a lot in recent years.

For CAD packages and project planning software, HTML conversion is simply not an option.

The solution is to use the Intelligent Intranet Document Conversion Module.
